Had a great week, managed to stick with meal plans. Preparing a week in advance was great for saving time, plus it was a real buzz to think I could chill out in the evening rather than prepare more food. Some days I struggled to eat the amount I had given myself. Some foods were not as nice defrosted the following day. I have therefore made a few adjustments for this week, sticking with the simple greens, that I enjoy. My plan is to eat my calorific amount taking into consideration, the protein and carbohydrate requirements for my body weight. I have also taken into consideration my training so I am not under eating and causing my body to struggle keeping muscle.
On Friday I got angry with myself, despite having trained all my body parts, and covering my cardio Sunday-Thursday, I felt frustrated leaving my Friday session until 5.30pm. By this time I was really tired and unmotivated. In fact because I didn't do my am training, I felt tired all day. #lesson learnt. No lie ins to train later that day!
My new plan is to train Monday - Friday 6.30am - 8am
This allows 30 mins for low intensity cardio and a weights/abs workout.
After this I immediately take in a protein shake, followed by oats made with water, cinnamon and coconut oil at 9am when I get to work.
My weight reduced from 64kg down to 61.2 in that time, clearly that was water and generally eating a healthy intake of carbs, protein and fats. I have also cut back on high intensity cardio, with my thyroid disorder, this sometimes causes me to gain weight. However I find low intensity boring, I always feel I want to sprint, run or do boxing, kicking.... But that will come back soon. I am learning to be patient.
So far I have spent my evening researching female bodybuilding categories and pose downs online, plus pre-contest diets.
Having trained since 1995, this is not new to me, however, my body has changed! Coming into my 40th birthday, I have different hormones, plus my medication has been changed to treat my thyroid. There will be a lot of experimentation in the coming weeks. This is why I am starting my prep earlier than most.
Just to confirm that I have decided to enter under NABBA and in the Figure Athletic Category, this competition will be held in Exeter on 3rd May.
